Why is it that mergers or acquisitions turn out to be unsuccessful despite thorough financial due diligence? Why is it that a company can be very successful in one country and a complete failure in another? And why is it that companies who have been successful for many years suddenly loose pace.
One of the answers is globalisation. In the global village we are a lot of different cultures working together closer than ever before.
You have probably been in a situation where things went wrong due to misunderstanding related to differences in values and beliefs.
To succeed in a globalised world you need to be able to achieve results across multiple cultures. To do that you need to have the tools to reconcile the different cultures and be aware of the changes you need to make to your organisation in order to succeed.
In this course you will be introduced to the issues companies are facing and through live cases. We will work with the most common issues and you will get ready-to-use tools. You will gain awareness of what it means being different and why it causes problems. You will learn how to deal with diversity and you will be presented with ways how your organisation can be adjusted to absorb diversity in an efficient way.
It is a one-day course, but can be tailored to a two-day course depending on your needs.
Training on building cross-cultural competences
Course objective
The objectives of the course are to give international management Teams the necessary tools to reconcile potential cultural conflicts . This is done by giving the participants an introduction to the cultural concepts developed by e.g. Dr. Fons Trompenaars.
Our aim is to give the participants a set of tools that can be used in the daily business of managing a multicultural Team.
How do we teach?
We use a variation of class introductions, case studies and role playing. New learnings are exemplified through cases and the participans will have the ability to work with the most common cross-cultural issues in real-life cases provided by Gugin.
Who should attend?
Managers with responsibility of managing a cultural diverse group of people
Why is this course different?
It is different because we focus on improving the cross-cuktural Team effectiveness rather than focusing on the differences itself. We do talk about national characteristics, but work a lot more on how to get results through cultural diversity.
Duration?
This is a one-day course, but can be tailored to the client's specific needs
